Running has been a part of my life even before I started running! As a young girl growing up in the late 70’s I watched my Dad race many events, and become heavily involved in the running world, often coaching other runners himself. Back then there were no fancy GPS watches, Endurance Training Software, or Strava celebrating your crowns and local legends! Fast forward a few (or more!) years, thanks to that piece of tech on your wrists, we get to Train specifically maximising the use of those principles pioneered way back then by legends such as Arthur Lydiard- highly regarded as one of the pioneers of modern distance running.
Since my early teens I had a great interest in the world of Natural Health, and it wasn’t until I went through my own personal health journey did I get to really experience and appreciate the profound healing effects that it has. It was a huge part of my recovery, and to this day I live very holistically in the choices I make on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
This whole chapter of my life led me to become a Naturopath after 4 years of study, then for the next 15 years I practiced Naturopathy and had solid client base within a Wellington Organic Foodstore. Today, as well as being a Run & Health Coach at CMF Running, I work within our Family Organic Farm. I have a busy Family life and 3 kids, this means my Training for my own running is done early in the morning, and that recovery between my sessions is super important! I Race all surfaces and all distances. I’ve done a bunch of halves, full marathons, and a recent 102km at Tarawera Ultramarathon. I really love mixing up my running year into blocks of trail & blocks of road, it’s really helped me become a strong well-rounded runner.
I am currently undertaking my Coaching Accreditations, as well as having the group support of the wider CMF Coaching Team. I’m very grateful that I get to combine my various Life Experiences and bring my prior Mentoring experience into now Coaching Runners on their journey. I’m available now for Run Coaching only, Health Coaching only, or a combination of both.
